THE OTTAWA RECEPTION First off, apologies for how long this page took to complete. Now that we're here lets get to it. When- The reception will be held on APRIL 9 from 6:30pm to 2:00am. It used to be the week after, but the location will be under construction then so it had to be moved ahead. Inviations were sent out with the new date, which is one of the reasons we are waiting until after the reception to send out any thank yous - too much mailing!Where- It will be at Algonquin College on Woodroffe Avenue in Ottawa. If you are using mapquest the college is at 1385 Woodroffe Ave. If you aren't using Mapquest, here is a map you can use. Easy directions are get on the 417, take the Woodroffe exit south. Turn left at the Navaho traffic lights and then right at the next lights. Park anywhere you want in the lot expect at meters or hadicap spots. Walk into D building and go straight. At the bottom of the ramp, before you come to another hallway is the reception. Once you are in the college, there will be signs.What to wear- Dress is semi-formal. No need for suits and ties. Read on for a suggestion in the themes..Theme- The theme for the party is island and pirates. If you have a nice tropical shirt or outfit, feel free to wear it. If you see some pirates at the party, do what they say or it may get nasty! There will be a treasure chest available if you wish to drop off a card. To add to the island mood we will be showing some of the pictures from our wedding in Barbados. Please let us know if you would like copies.Kids- Children are welcome but please make sure we know they are coming. We can have special food for them if we know in advance. We also have a couple teens who can entertain the kids while you enjoy the evening.Food- It will be buffet style finger foods. There will be veggies, fruit, sandwiches, a couple hot dishes, and some Barbados specialties. Food will be brought out at various times during the night, so stick around to see whats coming next! It will be a cash bar, with free coffee.Schedule- The general course of events will be:We are looking forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions or special needs please contact us. Also contact us if you need to book a room for the night. On a side note, if you are coming to Ottawa for more than just the reception please let us know. We may be arranging a tour of Ottawa, the college, and so on. We don't want to leave anyone out - but if you don't tell us you want to come we won't know you're there.
